Angels News: Taylor Ward Hopes Sunday’s Win Woke Up His Bat
Things were clicking on all cylinders for the Los Angeles Angels as they were able to take home a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals and secure themselves the series. Instead of losing in some sort of fashion like they have in other recent games, both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani shined like usual with a home run each.
However, Taylor Ward decided to join that party with his own homer that was key in giving LA the victory on Sunday and allowing them to improve to 11-11 on the season. This big hit finally ended a prior cold streak that saw go 1-12 at bat and see very little success whenever he stepped up to hit.
Ward has seen himself step into a bigger role this season and even in a game where he gets just one important hit, it seemingly does change everything.
This is all the Angels are asking of their role players: maximize your talents and they will likely win games as their superstars will be supported.
Ward unpacked their win over Kansas City and reflected on how own recent outings prior to that game.
"We've got to keep doing our thing out there," said Ward. "I think I have been consistently late and I've been trying to work on that. Being on time, I just keep hammering that."

This is the type of the attitude in which the Halos must carry moving forward.
