Angels News: Trade Deadline Acquisition Exits Halos Loss Early
The hits keep on coming for the Angels, albeit not the kind the team needs. Trade deadline acquisition C.J. Cron was forced to exit Saturday's loss in the 8th inning after a flare up of a lower back issue.
Manager Phil Nevin said the first baseman has been dealing with tightness in the lower back and saw something he didn't like late in the game that prompted the early exit.
Following another rough start for Tyler Anderson, Cron being in the lineup or not wasn't going to be all that much help for the Halos who were down 7-2 at the time of his exit. He was replaced in the lineup by Eduardo Escobar who slotted in at third base while Mike Moustakas moved over to first.
As Jeff Fletcher notes in the tweet above, Cron likely will not be in the lineup as the Angels look to avoid the sweep by the Houston Astros. He's hitting just .190 with one home run since rejoining the team that drafted him back in 2011.
