In this story:

Baseball season is almost upon us. We are officially into the month when we'll be watching live baseball games, and in no time at all, Opening Day will be here.

With baseball season quickly approaching, MLB has been posting projections for this season. They predicted who will be the Angels' best player (which may surprise you), and have been ranking the top 10 players at each position — a lot of Halos have made the cut.

They also recently posted projections for the home run leaders this season, and two Angels are among the top 10 leaders — I'll let you guess who they are.

Yes, it's the team's two biggest superstars, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. The projections, which come from FanGraphs, has Trout hitting the second-most home runs of anyone in baseball with 39, while Ohtani is tied for seventh with 35 long balls.

Last season, Trout became just the sixth player in MLB history to hit 40 or more home runs in 120 or fewer games. So if he stays healthy, he may far surpass that projection of 39.

As for Ohtani, he hit a mere 34 home runs last season, after crushing 46 the year before. So 35 feels like a fair estimate, especially considering he'll be taking on a larger workload on the mound this season.

And I'll say this. If Ohtani hits 35 home runs, and continues his production on the mound, there is no way he's not taking home another MVP Award next season.
