Angels News: Tyler Anderson Start Pushed Back Due to Injury
Heading into the penultimate weekend of the Angels season, one of the team's starters is going to wait a couple extra days to pitch one of his last games of the year.
It was announced on Thursday that Tyler Anderson is getting his start against the Twins moved from Friday to Sunday.
The Orange County Register reported the news.
"Left-hander Tyler Anderson had his turn pushed back from Friday to Sunday because of some knee discomfort, Nevin said."
"Nevin said Anderson was well enough to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, so they don’t believe it’s serious, but they nonetheless wanted to give him a couple extra days." (Via Orange County Register)
Anderson has had a tough first season with the Angels. Following a career year with the Dodgers last year, he hasn't been able to mirror that success in Orange County.
This year, Anderson has a 5.43 ERA in 25 starts. That ERA could stem from his inability to hit the strike zone this year.
After having a career low in walks last year with 34, Anderson has nearly doubled that number this year.
The sore knee that is pushing back Anderson's has not been an issue for him this year.
There have been no reports of Anderson having any knee issues previously.
Hopefully for the Angels Anderson will have no other problems other than this mini setback for the rest of the season.
