Angels News: Tyler Anderson’s Spring Training Debut Date Officially Set
The biggest addition the Angels made this offseason was signing LHP Tyler Anderson to a three-year, $39 million deal. Anderson burst onto the scene last year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, and being named an All-Star for the first time in his career.
The Angels signed Anderson early in free agency, and were able to get great value on the contract. His deal is one that I've personally pegged as the steal of the offseason.
Anderson hasn't yet suited up in a spring training game for his new club, but on Wednesday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reported when he'll be making his debut — and that game is definitely going to be fun for him
Anderson will be making his Cactus League debut on Friday, March 3, when the Angels take on none other than the Dodgers.
Anderson will likely pitch just a few innings against his former team, but it'll be a lot of fun for him to be out there against the guys who he played with last season.
He'll look to get his spring training off on the right foot, and prove that last year wasn't just a fluke. The Angels will be relying on him as their No. 3 starter in the rotation all year long.
Angels fans have been very excited about this addition for the last few months. Finally, they'll get their first look at him on Friday.
