Angels News: Zach Neto Details Sudden Call-Up to Big League Roster
Zach Neto was barely drafted by the Los Angeles Angels with the number 13 pick in the 2022 Draft and had only logged 44 games in the minor league since then when LA's front office notified him he would be joining the big league roster.
He was thrust into an important role immediately at the shortstop position and he actually suited up for 12 straight games after getting promoted. Neto was the first draftee from his 2022 class to get run with his major league affiliate and he looks to carry on the same rookie firepower that Logan O'Hoppe was showcasing before his shoulder injury.
Like anybody else would in his place, he needed the first couple of games to adjust to the new environment before he could start consistently getting hits. Neto is currently slashing .265/.357/.347 and has gotten 13 hits in 49 at-bats. Majority of those have come in recent games and the comfort level is starting to increase.
Neto detailed exactly what it meant to him to receive the call that he was officially a member of the Angels.
"I tell everybody it's a good way start your career and I wouldn't want it any other way," said Neto. "I feel good, I feel relaxed out there and it's great to be able to come home and put on those white uniforms and just play in front of the home crowd, it feels natural."

Despite his age and experience, Neto will continue playing a big role within the Halos this season.
