Things were going well enough for the Angels in their series opener against the Baltimore Orioles until a 7th inning three-run home run by rookie shortstop Gunnar Henderson sunk the Halos' hopes as they fell 6-3 at Angel Stadium. The loss was the Angels seventh in their last eight games. 

In other news though, Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani may have caught a significant break concerning his UCL tear. His agent told the media on Monday of a development that could see Ohtani not needing Tommy John surgery, something that was seen as an inevitability just two weeks ago.
