Angels Notes: Shohei Watch Ongoing as Halos Possibly Contend for Another Japanese Free Agent

Will Shohei stay in Anaheim?

While the Angels' biggest focus during free agency remains re-signing superstar Shohei Ohtani, the Halos will also likely compete to sign Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is expected to be posted this winter. He is one of the most dominant pitchers in NPB history and will attract the attention of quite a few MLB ballclubs.

Ohtani and Yamamoto are familiar with one another, having both played for Team Japan during the World Baseball Classic.
