Angels Prospects Selected to Spring Breakout Roster
The Los Angeles Angels have released the roster for the Angels' Spring Breakout game this year. The MLB is holding the Spring Breakout series over four days from March 14-17 for the first time this season. The game will showcase some of the best minor league players for each team.
The pitching roster will include Caden Dana, Barrett Kent, Jack Kochanowicz, Walbert Urena, Camden Minacci, Jorge Marcheco, Joel Hurtado, Kelvin Caceres, Francis Texido, Nick Jones, Bryce Osmond and Hayden Seig. All of these pitchers are right-handers, except for Texido and Jones.
Three catchers made the roster — Dario Laverde, Alberto Rios and Juan Flores. Infielders include Kyren Paris, Denzer Guzman and Capri Ortiz. Adrian Placencia, Sam Brown, Tucker Flint and Cole Fontenelle made the roster, too.
Lastly, the Angels' outfielders for the Spring Breakout game includes Nelson Rada, Jadiel Sanchez, Jorge Ruiz, Anthony Scull and David Calabrese, via Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
Two of the most notable players who will participate in this game are Angels No. 3 prospect, Caden Dana, and their No. 2 prospect, Nelson Rada. Both players have already shown some potential early in Spring Training.
Dana has pitched four innings and is yet to give up an earned run while recording three strikeouts. Rada has recorded two hits and two RBIs in seven at-bats. He's also shown his knack for stealing bases, having stolen three this spring.
Dana, Rada and the rest of the Angels prospects will show off against the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 16.
