As the Los Angeles Angels enter into their offseason, they have one goal in mind. That is to put together a roster that can get them back into the playoffs next season.

They are waiting to see what happens with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, but they have other areas on the team to address as well. It seems that the Halos are interested in bringing some veteran talent into the mix for next season, and one name to watch for is former All-Star infielder Tim Anderson.

"The Angels are expressing strong interest in shortstop Tim Anderson, who was cut loose by the White Sox, and could convert him to second base."

Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today

Anderson could fit in well with the Angels for next season, especially if they are trying to field a competitive roster. He brings experience to the table and could give them a solid bat in the lineup.

While 2023 was a down year for him, he did seem to bounce back a bit in the second half of the year. Anderson could give them some edge as well, as he is known for being an outspoken player over his time in the league.

New manager Ron Washington could help things as well since he is known for his work with infielders over his career. Anderson could join the team on a one-year prove-it style contract, to then enter the market again next season after putting up better numbers.

The one thing that could see Anderson not have interest in joining the Angels is that he has spent his entire career playing on mainly bad teams, and he likely wants to join a contender. The Angels haven’t made the playoffs since 2014, so that could see Anderson not view them as an option.

The entire offseason for the Halos will be fascinating to see play out, as the team tries to field a winning team. This is a crucial winter for them, and it could see them heading into a transition year depending on what happens.
