Angels Reveal Big Pitching Rotation Plans For Next Week
The Los Angeles Angels did experience some early struggles with the bullpen early into the season but their pitching staff has not been awful by any means. Shohei Ohtani reminded everybody that he is still human on Thursday night against the Oakland Athletics where he gave up five runs and two home runs.
But when looking at everyone as a whole, the likes of Patrick Sandoval and Reid Detmers along with the usual Ohtani masterclass have led to a pretty solid pitching rotation. They currently sit at 12th in the league with a 4.00 ERA and it's also important to remember that Griffin Canning is finally consistently taking the mound again after two years of injuries.
LA is currently in the midst of a series against the Milwaukee Brewers and will take on the Arizona Cardinals and Texas Rangers after that.
Team manager Phil Nevin knows how important the pitching production will be as the seasons progresses and he will be carefully scheduling his starters to ensure no one gets burned out.
"The Angels will start Patrick Sandoval on Tuesday in St. Louis, followed by Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday and Griffin Canning on Thursday. Tyler Anderson and Reid Detmers will then work the first two games of the homestand next weekend. Nevin said he wants to keep Sandoval and Ohtani on their normal sixth day as much as possible, but he didn’t want to push Canning back too far."

All of these guys are set to bring in even more success this coming week and get into an even better rhythm.
