Angels' RHP Receives Negative Injury Update, No Debut Soon
The Los Angeles Angels have given multiple young players a stage to perform on this season with as Logan O'Hoppe and Zach Neto being their most prominent success stories. When it comes to their pitching staff, however, they mainly boast names that are on the older and more experienced end.
If Chris Rodriguez was still in the lineup, he would undoubtedly change that. We last saw him suit up for the Halos back in 2021 when he was just 22-years-old. He appeared in 15 matches strictly out of the bullpen and was getting comfortable in the big league as he posted a 3.64 ERA.
Prior to his initial call-up, Rodriguez grinded out a couple years in AA and AAA and showcased impressive poise. LA would unfortunately lose him by the end of his 2021 campaign due to shoulder surgery and he's been trying to work his way back ever since.
Fans had been hoping that 2023 would be his comeback season with the franchise but a recent update shows that we should not expect him anytime soon.
"Right-hander Chris Rodriguez, who is on the 60-day injured list, is still not progressing toward a return to action. Rodriguez advanced to facing hitters in April, but his rehab stalled and he has not been able to throw off a mound."

“It’s kind of day-to-day how he feels or what he’s doing,” Nevin said.
We wish the best for C-Rod moving forward and hope to see him healthy real soon!
