Angels Roster News: Halos Officially Non-Tender One Pitcher
The Los Angeles Angels have officially non-tendered one player ahead of Friday's deadline, right-handed pitcher Jose Marte.
The team announced that they tendered contracts to all the remaining unsigned players on the 40-man roster.
Some of the biggest arbitration-eligible players who were tendered contracts include Patrick Sandoval, Taylor Ward, Griffin Canning and Luis Rengifo.
Marte, however, was the odd man out, and will now hit the open market after three seasons with the Angels.
Marte has struggled mightily over the last three years, sporting a career 8.14 ERA with the Halos.
This past year, he appeared in 10 games, and allowed nine earned runs, culminating in an 8.68 ERA.
The Angels won't miss him much in the bullpen next year, but hopefully he finds a solid landing spot that can help him truly unlock his stuff.
The Angels didn't make any other moves or trades on Friday, so for now, there's not much movement on the 40-man roster.
