Angels Rumors: Mets All-Star Answers Shohei Ohtani Question in Hilarious Way
When Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani becomes a free agent this winter, pretty much every team in baseball will be vying for his services. But realistically, only a few will be able to meet the demands both financially and have a team that can win a World Series.
Ohtani has talked a lot about winning being his main priority so he likely will go to a team that he sees as a sustainable winning organization.
Teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres all come to mind here but there will be a few others as well. One of those teams has an owner that basically prints money and that is the Mets with Steve Cohen. He is determined to throw money at the teams’ issues to try and bring a World Series to Queens so they will most definitely be players in the Ohtani sweepstakes.
Over All-Star weekend, one current Mets player was campaigning for Ohtani to join the team and even had some funny comments regarding his recruiting tactics.
Kodai Senga joined the Mets this season and earned a spot on the National League All-Star roster after a stellar start to his career. He knows Ohtani well as they both have played together in Japan. That familiarity factor could benefit the Mets down the line in regards to Ohtani.
If Ohtani were to join the Mets, he would become the biggest star in New York City. He already is the biggest star in baseball but for him to be on a national stage like New York, it would be special to watch.
It looks like Senga is ready to put on his recruiting hat to help bring Ohtani to the East Coast and only time will tell if he is able to actually pull it off.
