The Los Angeles Angels may have a ton of work to do if worse comes to worse with Shohei Ohtani leaving this off-season. The chances of that happening are pretty high, but it doesn't necessarily mean it would be the end of the world.

Regardless of what happens, the Angels must do their due diligence and improve on all facets of the game. A team always has use for power-hitter in a lineup, and the Halos will be in the market for one. There are a ton of great options out there, but MLB insiders from MLB Trade Rumors are predicting that the Halos will poach power hitter Teoscar Hernández from their AL West rivals, Seattle Mariners.

Teoscar Hernandez

. Four years, $80MM

Tim: Angels / Anthony: Angels

“Optimistic teams could point to Hernandez’s home/road splits. He hit just .217/.263/.380 at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park; his .295/.344/.486 slash away from Seattle was more characteristic.”

“Hernandez is still one of the top options for teams seeking a middle-of-the-order bat. He typically grades as a below-average defender in the corner outfield despite above-average sprint speed and arm strength. DRS and Statcast both felt he was roughly average in right field this past season.”

(per MLB Trade Rumors)

According to these experts, Hernández is ranked as the number 12 free agent in this year's class.

The two-time silver slugger is coming off a fine season where he slashed .258/.305/.435 with a .741 OPS, a 106 OPS+, along with 26 home runs and 96 RBIs. His slugging numbers may have been down compared to years past, but he is only 30 years old and was named an All-Star for the first time only two seasons ago.

The Halos could use all the power-hitting they can get, and we'll see how aggressive they will be on Hernández.
