While the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are trying to fend off the New York Yankees for a series sweep in New York, everyone is counting down the days till Shohei Ohtani potentially leaves Anaheim.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of factors to an Ohtani trade, and MLB.com's, J.P. Morosi, has them all listed down.

Talking on MLB Network's "Inside Corner" show, Morosi says that the Angels the idea of trading Ohtani could depend on how if the team can inch closer to the American League Wild Card and finish above a .500 winning percentage by the end of the month.

"If they are above .500, I think the chances of trading Ohtani are diminished significantly.. It all [depends] on how the [Angels] are playing."

Morosi also reports that teams are waiting to see how serious Ohtani's blister issue is and if that impacts the Angels chances of trading away the Japanese superstar.

The question that would follow an Angels effort to send Shohei Ohtani away would be - What is a fair price for Ohtani?

Morosi has discussed with several MLB Executives that have agreed that a fair deal looks very similar to last year's trade between the San Diego Padres and the Washington Nationals, where we saw Juan Soto and Josh Bell traded to San Diego.

It's kind of hard to say what exactly is a fair exchange for Ohtani, and to compare his situation to Juan Soto's is not a very good comparison.

Again, a lot of things have to be aligned first before the idea of Ohtani being traded is fulfilled. Can the Angels making it above .500 in the month of July. We shall see.
