The Los Angeles Angels have won three straight games and actually looked pretty good during their sweep of the reeling New York Yankees. But was this more about the Angels getting things together or the Yankees just being in a free fall at the moment? Only time will tell but the sweep may have quieted the Shohei Ohtani rumors, even for just a day.

The team has a big decision to make over the next few weeks on what they want to do with their two-way superstar. With him being a free agent this winter, they may be better off trading him and getting some value back, but they also want to try and make a playoff push. It’s a fine line to be walking and with only a little time left, they could have some issues.

If the team does indeed trade Ohtani, there will be no shortage of interested teams. In fact, most teams would likely make an offer to the Angels for his services, even if he was only a rental. But there is one team to potentially watch out for if the Angels make him available and that is the Texas Rangers.

Yes, they are the Angels' division rival but Texas does possess some intriguing prospects and they are gearing up to possibly go on a World Series run this season themselves. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic gives his thoughts.

"The Rangers are another team to watch if Ohtani becomes available. A potential postseason rotation led by Ohtani, Nathan Eovaldi and Jon Gray would be formidable, and the addition of Ohtani to the team’s offense could make it as potent as the Braves’."

Per The Athletic

The biggest question here is whether or not the Angels would move Ohtani within the division. My guess would be no but anything is possible! If Texas were to pull this off, it would be a massive gain for them.

This story isn't going away anytime soon and everyone will be glued to every rumor until we see a conclusion this season.
