The Angels have seemingly been known as the team that tries to win by signing big-name free agents over the years. It just hasn't worked out the way that they have hoped.

As the offseason inches closer, they once again look like they will be watching the playoffs from the sidelines. If that does end up being the case, moves will need to be made this off-season.

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report listed one player from each MLB team that could be traded this offseason. Left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson was named for the Angels.

"Until we find out whether the Angels re-sign Shohei Ohtani, it's impossible to gauge how they'll approach the offseason. But Anderson is the lone eight-figure salary whom they could reasonably trade away, which could be a desirable move regardless of whether they do retain Ohtani.”

Per Bleacher Report

Anderson has been a trainwreck for the Angels this season. After a strong year with the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, Anderson signed a three-year deal worth $39 million with the Angels.

He hasn't lived up to it this season, posting an ERA of 4.92 and a WHIP of 1.50. Compared to last season when he had an ERA of 2.57 and a WHIP of 1.00, he has seen a major downtrend this year.

It would make sense for the Angels to try and move off the Anderson contract. Maybe he has a bounceback after this year, but he is 33 years old and is owed a good amount of money going forward.

He was supposed to help solidify the Angels' rotation but has been very up and down during his Angeles tenure so far. No matter what happens with Ohtani this winter, the Angels should look to move on from Anderson.

They are likely teams out there that believe they can duplicate what the Dodgers did with him, so the Halos may be able to get something of value in return.
