Jo Adell, who made an impact on Angels fans when he hit a 451-foot bomb in his first at-bat of the 2023 season, is crushing it in the minor leagues.

Adell hit his 58th career home run with the Salt Lake Bees, the Angels Triple-A team, on Friday night. The hit gave him sole possession of fifth place of career home runs in Salt Lake franchise history.

"With his home run last night, Jo Adell moved into sole possession of 5th place in Salt Lake franchise history with 58 career HRs with the Bees. Next up in 4th in Chad Rupp with 59. He played for the Buzz in the late 90s. Brandon Wood is the all time leader with 77."

It wasn't the first record Adell has broken this year. Earlier this season, Adell hit the furthest-ever home run in major or minor league baseball in the Statcast era, with an astounding 514-foot hit.

Adell was first called up this season when outfielder Hunter Renfroe missed a game for the birth of his first child. With Renfroe, Mike Trout and Taylor Ward in the outfield, there isn't exactly pressure for the Angels to call Adell up again, but he could hit free agency after this season.

Adell's spotty defense has long prevented his call-up, and there is a chance he is part of a deal before the Aug. 1 trade deadline. However, many Angels fans hope that there is a place for the talented young player on their roster.

"Let's hope Jo never beats that record. He needs to be in the big leagues with someone, if not the Angels."
