In what easily their biggest game of 2023 thus far, the Los Angeles Angels made sure to keep every fan on the edge of their seat. They entered the bottom of the ninth inning against their biggest division-rival right now in the Texas Rangers and were down 4-1... it looked like they would have to wait until Saturday for a chance at redemption.

But LA indeed had other plans. Chad Wallach and Luis Rengifo ensured with two late-game hits that the score would be all tied up and an extra inning would be necessary to give the Halos a chance at still taking the series opener.

A series of plays then found Zach Neto at third base and Anthony Rendon stepped up to the plate to make some magic happen once again.

Then, something insane happened. Josh Sborz threw a pretty off-target pitch that still hit Jonah Heim's glove but he just wasn't able to hold onto it.

He watched as the ball flew past him and Neto was then able to steal home plate and give the Angels their 5th run to win the game. Take a look at the crazy play down below.

Team manager Phil Nevin shared his thoughts on the final play that gave LA the victory and he said he was just happy to see the odds fall in their favor.

“I’ve seen stranger things,” Manager Phil Nevin said. “We were hoping for anything there. I felt like I had the right guy at the plate too with Anthony. No matter who is on the mound I think he is still probably the best in baseball getting a guy in from third base. I’ll take them any way I can get them.”

At the end of the day, a win is a win no matter how it happened. LA continues their hit streak and they have the upper hand now as they are set to face the Rangers once again Saturday at 6:07 pm PT.
