Blake Snell Reportedly Prefers Landing With The Angels, According to ESPN Insider
The Los Angeles Angels new season will be starting soon but the front office remains active in trying to bring in more talent. The team is looking to be more competitive this year, with the hope of breaking the long playoff drought.
One player who has long been connected with the Halos is reigning Cy Young Award Blake Snell. Snell remains on the open market currently, but could be coming close to a free agency decision.
He has reportedly been asking for a contract over $200 million, with no teams willing to match that at this time. However, it now seems that Snell may be hoping to land with the Angels.
ESPN's Buster Olney has reported that he believes Snell is looking to land with the Halos, and that he ultimately will head there if the two sides can come to an agreement.
"I'm hearing that Blake Snell's preference -- strong preference -- is to go to the Angels," Olney said during Thursday's edition of the Baseball Tonight podcast. "There [has] been back-and-forth with that team. That's where I think he's going to land."

Adding in a pitcher like Snell would vastly increase the Angels starting rotation, giving them a true ace to work with. He would make them a threat in the American League, especially given the smaller upgrades that the team has made this offseason.
This could be a move to help them reach their goals of getting back to the postseason, and Snell could help the younger arms on the team. He has been in the league for a while, and this could be a good investment by the Angels.
