Well, this should be interesting..

In this story:

Former Angels manager Brad Ausmus is trying to make his way back into a managerial role this offseason. The longtime MLB catcher served as the manager of the Halos in 2019 but was fired just one season into his three-year contract.

The Angels underperformed, and it cost him his job. Under Ausmus, the team won only 72 games and failed to qualify for the postseason yet again. But prior to him joining the Halos, Ausmus put together a couple of solid seasons as the manager of the Detroit Tigers.

While the Tigers only made the playoffs one time during his four-year run in Detroit, Ausmus was one of the hottest names on the market when the Angels saw him. He has the ability to relate to players in a strong way, and guys seemed to like playing for him.

Ausmus brings his knowledge of the game to the table, as he was known as one of the better defensive catchers during his playing career. He managed somewhat similar to how he played, and at times it did cost him.

But he has taken time to see what he did wrong and wants another chance to prove himself. He last was working with the Oakland Athletics in a bench role but resigned to focus on trying to land a managerial role.

He holds a record of 386-422 as a manager, and he could likely help some young team out. Ausmus is still only 54 years old, so he has time to grow with a team and show them the ropes.

It remains to be seen if he will be given another opportunity to be a manager, but if he does get a job, hopefully, this one turns out better than his previous stops.
