With the offseason starting for the Angels, people are continuing to analyze what went wrong with the team's season.

The question arises every year of why the Halos are not good when they have two generational talents on the team.

The answer to that question goes much deeper than roster issues. According to Sam Blum of the Athletic, the front office has problems of its own and they start all the way back at spring training.

Since 1993, the Angels have held their spring training in Tempe, Arizona at Tempe Diablo Stadium.

The facility is the oldest in the Cactus League and holds less than 10,000 seats.

A former Angels front office executive has come out to tell Blum that the facility is one of the worst in all of baseball.

“It’s the oldest and worst facility in Arizona,” said a former Angels official, echoing current Angels officials. “I would imagine it’s probably the worst in all of spring training.” (Via The Athletic)

The stadium, which is situated right behind a picturesque mountain, is missing many things that other MLB teams have at their facilities.

The biggest issue that Tempe Diablo Stadium has is that there is no room to split up the major league camp from the minors. The MLB team is either practicing with minor leaguers every day or the minor leaguers have to go to Scottsdale which is nowhere near the Tempe facility.

The Angels also used to have issues with providing breakfast and weight rooms for players during spring training, according to former pitcher C.J. Wilson.

Tempe and the Angels have announced renovations that are expected to take place at the facility, but there has been no movement in executing the upgrades at all.
