Free agent outfielder Brett Phillips has agreed to a contract with the Chicago White Sox. MLB.com's Mark Feinsand was the first to announce the news of the signing.

It is a minor league deal for Phillips with the White Sox.

Philips spent the 2023 season with the Angels organization, appearing in 39 games for the team. He hit just .175 with three home runs and six runs batted in during that time.

He spent most of the year with Triple-A but was recalled toward the end of the season. Phillips was outrighted back to Triple-A after the year ended but rejected the assignment to elect free agency.

Phillips has bounced around the league over the last few seasons, spending time with the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles.

His biggest career highlight comes from Game 4 of the 2020 World Series. He hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 9th inning to score two runs and give the Rays the victory.

He now heads to the AL Central and will be competing for a job with Chicago. We wish him all the best moving forward and thank him for his time with the Halos.
