Hunter Renfroe's 1st Home Run Tops Off Angels Comeback Win over Toronto
The biggest story surrounding the Los Angeles Angels loss on Friday to the Blue Jays was that nobody outside of Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout could provide any help at the plate. Opposing teams' fanbases had a field day with the stat lines but we knew our lineup would come in to Saturday's matchup with a chip on their shoulder.
The start was not pretty at all as they went down 0-4 quick and it looked like yet another loss at home was on the way. However, four different players on the Angels stepped up to bat and just completely set pitches into the stands.
We all know that Mike Trout loves wearing the new Samurai hat so his bomb in the fifth inning was very much expected.
However, both Luis Rengifo and Hunter Renfroe decided to join the party and add their homers to the mix as well.
It was the first home run of the season for both of these of these guys and they played huge roles in ensuring that they tied the series against the Blue Jays.
Renfroe was able to put the finishing touches on their 9-5 win and solidified their current first place standing the AL West. He hasn't seen the most success when stepping up the plate thus far into the season but that all looks to change after this big game. He is slashing .194/.286/.323. and has totaled six hits on the year thus far.
