The Los Angeles Angles are in a long playoff drought. The Halos have not made the playoffs since 2014 and last won a playoff game in 2009. That is a long time, especially for a team with possibly the two best players in the game, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.

The Angels and their fans are starving for some October baseball, and they hope to get it done this season. As through early June, the Halos aren't in the postseason, but they are on the right track. They are only 2.5 games in back of the final spot in the wild card and 7.5 games in back of AL West division leaders Texas Rangers.

We'll see if LA can get the job done this season; if they do, MLB expert for Bleacher Report Zachary Rymer says the Angles could be a threat in a short postseason series.

I'll probably live to regret this, but dare I say nobody should want to play the Angels in a short series?Shohei Ohtani is the best player in the world, and the World Baseball Classic was the best showcase yet for his clutch gene. Trout simply has to be better than he's shown so far this year, and I think the bullpen is underrated. Between Carlos Estevez, Jaime Barria, Chris Devenski and Matt Moore, the Angels have a relief foursome with a composite 1.70 ERA. Of course, the Halos have to get into the playoffs first. But that's where Judge's injury and the general meh-ness of the Blue Jays can only help.

This is as good a chance as any for the Halos to make the playoffs. They must remain healthy and maybe make a few trades; if they do, they can be even more of a threat outside of a "short series."

The Halos must remain within striking distance to even have a shot at a postseason berth. The baseball world needs to see Ohtani and Trout on the biggest stage, they deserve it, and the fans do as well.

If you're in the playoffs, anything can happen, and we'll see if the Halos can get it done.
