Ron Washington Reveals What Angels' 2024 Lineup Could Look Like

Could the Angels carry 5 outfielders?

Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington revealed his first mock lineup on Thursday and it seems like the first-year manager has changed his mind about a couple of things.

He told reporters, including Halos Today's Noah Camras, the lineup seen below.

Just last week, Washington told reporters, that Nolan Schanuel would be the lead-off man but as of this week, that spot belongs to Luis Rengifo or Mickey Moniak.

Washington changed his mind about Schanuel because he wants more speed at the top of the lineup, according to Camras.

The battle for outfield positioning is seen at the No. 8 spot with Moniak, Jo Adell and Aaron Hicks. It looks like it could come down to matchups to determine who the starting right fielder will be.

Trent Rush, the radio voice of the Angels, breaks it down further.

Overall, the lineup is a solid mix of veterans and youth. Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon anchor the heart of the order with Schanuel, Logan O'Hoppe, and Zach Neto spread out around them.

It also says the Angels will most likely carry five outfields on the 26-man roster.

The Angels could put this lineup to the test as early as Saturday when they open Cactus League play against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
