They were taking some good notes on the Halos.

Now obviously it has almost been 10 years since the Los Angeles Angels made the playoffs and that is pretty embarrassing, especially considering the star power they've had over the past couple of seasons.

However, I think that if the Halos need any sort of inspiration to get over the hump and finally make the postseason, they should watch a couple games of the NBA playoffs going on right now. More specifically, they should tune in to the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors series.

Prior to this season, the Kings held the longest current playoff drought between the major sports leagues in America with 17 years. They were the target of every joke and meme and even when they got off to a hot start earlier in the year, nobody really took them seriously.

But they are currently up 2-0 in their seven-game series against a Warriors team that's won four rings in the last decade. Their brand of basketball is super fast-paced and the city of Sacramento is fully united with their 'Light The Beam' celebration after each win.

However, did you know that this iconic ritual that has taken the sports world by storm was actually inspired by your Angels' 'Big A' sign. Sam Blum brought this news to light shortly after Sacramento's big Monday night win.

"The victory beam came to fruition after a brainstorming session with Ranadivé and Kings president of business operations John Rinehart. Originally, Rinehart was inspired by a fellow professional sports club in California. The Los Angeles Angels have the Big A Sign, a 230-foot metal structure shaped like the letter A, in their parking lot with a halo that lights up after every win."

It's great to see that the Angels have been able to play a role in another team's successful marketing tactic and we hope that LA can defy all odds just like the Kings have.
