Shohei Ohtani Leads Angels to Huge Comeback Win over Texas, LA Scores 8 Straight
If it was not summer already, every Angels family in attendance would have had to have found some way to put their kids to bed after the 12-inning masterclass that we saw LA put on in their Monday game against the Texas Rangers.
Through three innings, it looked like we were well on our way to applauding the Halos for their performances over the past week but accept that the top-seeded Rangers were far too much for them. However, some excellent pitching, elite defense, and a certain superstar named Shohei Ohtani did not allow them to happen.
Despite finding themselves in a 1-5 hole, the Halos were able to tie up the game 5-5 at the top of the seventh inning behind Ohtani's first homer of the game.
It was pretty chaotic from there on out as neither team was able to capitalize on any runners that made it to base and the score remained tied at five until the 12th (!!!) inning rolled around.
The score was then finally extended to 7-5 in favor of the Angels thanks to yet another home run from none other than Ohtani.
LA was ultimately able to start off the series with a 9-6 victory and in his postgame interview, Ohtani showed love to all of his teammates for their efforts like always.
"This was the first game of the series, we really wanted to win this game," said Ohtani. "The defense came through, the relievers came through at the end, and I'm just glad we got the victory."

Ohtani was also super happy to see Sam Bachman thrive late in the game at the mound.
"He definitely pitched really great," said Ohtani. "He deserves that first win 100% and I think he could expect a beer shower after this."

It was great to see Bachman record his first victory and give Ohtani the chance to win the Halos the game. We'll see everybody at 5:05 pm PT as we hope the energy carries over!
