We have to address the elephant in the room everybody. Shohei Ohtani is undoubtedly among the best talents in the MLB right now and there is virtually nobody that can do what he does at the plate and on the pitching mound. He's a generational superstar and if not for the Angels failing to surround him with a better roster his first couple of years in the league, he'd have even more hardware.

Due to his skill and his current situation, his name winds up in more trade rumors than any other superstar by far. Every franchise wants to believe they have a fighting chance to land him in next year's free agency or even trade for him before then. And even though it pains us to say this, the Los Angeles Dodgers are certainly a favorite to snag him.

Think about it for a second. Ohtani wouldn't have to move or adjust to a whole new environment, they have plenty of money to offer him, and they are one of the most storied franchises in history. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller thinks the Dodgers will go all in at the trade deadline and part ways with a bunch of young talent for the 28-year-old.

"Shohei Ohtani to the Los Angeles Dodgers for RHP Bobby Miller, OF Andy Pages, C Dalton Rushing and RHP Emmet Sheehan. There was reasonable hope early in the offseason that the Dodgers would get below the $233 million competitive balance tax threshold in order to reset that luxury tax clock and pay less in "overage charges," if you will, in future seasons—ideally with Ohtani on the team starting in 2024."

"They must swing big, offering up three top-100 prospects, as well as a sixth-round pick from two years ago who has pitched well thus far in the minors."

It would be heartbreaking to see Ohtani join the city rivals but it will ultimately come down to how the Halos are performing at the trade deadline.
