The Los Angeles Angels found themselves in quite the sticky situation at the top of the ninth inning against the Oakland Athletics in one of the craziest games this year so far.

Tied 8-8 with the bases loaded, Shea Langelier stepped up to the plate with one thing on his mind: Take the lead!

It looks like Taylor Ward had other plans...

Langelier sent a fastball deep left field and it looked like that ball was gone and the lead was about to extend 12-8 in Oakland's favor.

However, Ward carefully timed every step on the way there, extended his glove past the wall perfectly, and snagged the hit with his left hand.

Have a look for yourself.

What was going on prior to this insane play?

Leading up to this ninth inning, it was utter chaos all around. The Athletics had enjoyed a lead as large as 7-1.

They started off the game hot with three home runs in the first two innings thanks to the likes of Rooker, Aguilar, and Smith.

Brandon Drury and Chad Wallach both joined the home run derby for the Angels though.
