It was just one week ago that the Los Angeles Angels failed to show up in one of their biggest series yet against the Houston Astros as they were able to only walk away with a single victory. With numerous injuries hitting the team and Mike Trout starting to show signs of a slump, the vibes were pretty slow.

However, the Halos headed back to Anaheim and with two straight home series against the Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners, they put on a show for their fans as they almost went undefeated and won both series with an overall record of 5-1. Their final victory of the homestead saw them dominate the Mariners 9-4 as Griffin Canning struck out seven batters and the bullpen allowed no runs.

And Zach Neto continues to thrive in his rookie season with the Angels as he logged two home runs a single outing for the first time in his young career and stamped his name in franchise history in the process.

"Zach Neto had his 1st career multi-HR game today. He's the youngest Angels shortstop with a multi-HR game since Jim Fregosi in 1964."

Always Showing Love To His Guys

A huge reason as to why Neto is making a name for himself with every game that passes by, outside of his rising defense and slugging, is because he is growing into a leader despite not even a full major league year under his belt.

No matter if LA finished with a win or a loss, Neto is one of the more vocal guys on the squad on the field and in postgame interviews and Sunday proved no different.

“We’re doing the right things,” Neto said. “We’re bringing guys in to score when we need to. We’re doing situational hitting. Our pitchers have been doing amazing. Our bullpen has been shutting it down. And our defense has been holding its own. We’re playing all-around good baseball, and that’s going to lead to wins.”
