Former Houston Astros general manager James Click has been hired by the Toronto Blue Jays as vice president of baseball strategy.

After winning a World Series with the Astros in 2022, Click parted ways with the organization. He was reportedly offered only a one-year deal to return and the Astros opted to hire Dana Brown away from the Atlanta Braves.

Click will join the Blue Jays front office in baseball operations and will work closely with GM Ross Atkins and department heads on strategic planning, decision making and evaluation.

Click spent three years with the Astros and prior to that, he was with the Tampa Bay Rays for 15 years.
