The Houston Astros completed the series win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night after an impressive 8-1 victory.

The Astros (9-10) looked great on all fronts, especially offensively, in their win over the Blue Jays.

Astros starter Luis Garcia was given the nod as the day's starter and turned in his best outing of the young season. Garcia went 7.0 innings pitched and didn't allow a single earned run. Even better, he gave up just two hits.

Despite a glimmer of a rally by Toronto off of reliever Rafael Montero in the eighth inning, Houston's bullpen also turned in a solid performance with Bryan Abreu and Ryan Pressly slamming the door shut on any potential Blue Jays comeback.

The Astros scored six of their eight runs in the eighth inning to put to rest any doubts about the victory.

First baseman Jose Abreu notched an RBI-single that scored Mauricio Dubon and Alex Bregman. Kyle Tucker kept the line moving with an RBI-single to score Yordan Alvarez from second to make it 5-1.

And to cap off the night, shortstop Jeremy Peña launched a three-run home run to make it 8-1, the final score of the evening.

It is a great momentum boost to the Astros who have been battling to right the ship and gain some consistency.

Houston will travel and face the Atlanta Braves for a three-game weekend series at Truist Park in Atlanta. Friday night's game has a first pitch scheduled for 6:20 p.m. CT. Hunter Brown will take the mound for the Astros. He will face Bryce Elder of the Braves.
