Watch: Houston Astros Star Tucker Records RBI for USA, Chases Pérez From Game
Houston Astros star right fielder Kyle Tucker recorded an RBI-single for Team USA against Venezuela in the first inning of the World Baseball Classic Quarterfinals.
Tucker tried to turn his single into a double and was called out after replay showed him being tagged out by Astros teammate and Venezuelan second baseman Jose Altuve.
Tucker's RBI made it a 3-0 ballgame for Team USA and represented just the first out of the inning. After allowing five-straight hits, Venezuelan starter Martin Pérez, who plays for the Texas Rangers, was pulled from the game.
The Houston right fielder was a little slow to get up after sliding into second, but was able to leave the field under his own power.
Tucker's presence in Team USA's lineup helps bolster their power production, while also providing Gold Glove defense in left field.
