Watch: Álvarez Ties Ball Game Against Texas Rangers With RBI-Double
It's been a wild start to Saturday night's matchup between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers. It was scoreless through two innings, then things got weird in the third.
The Rangers were able to plate two runs that began with a Mauricio Dubon error, then a couple of infield hits that did just enough to squeak through the scores to make it 2-0.
Astros rookie Hunter Brown struggled and seemed flustered once the bases were loaded, but came up with two huge strikeouts to end the top of the inning.
Then, Houston had its chance at the plate. A 109.3-mph line drive from Yainer Diaz hit Texas starter Jon Gray on the forearm, causing the pitcher to leave the game early.
With Diaz and Dubon on base, Yordan Álvarez came up to face relief pitcher Cole Ragans. Álvarez then launched a near home run to left field but fell just short of the Crawford Boxes. It was enough to score Diaz and Dubon to make it a brand new ballgame at 2-2.
Stay tuned as this game sure seems like it may turn into a barn burner.
