Houston Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier is getting prepared for an arbitration hearing against the Houston Astros, according to multiple reports.
The right-hander is searching for $3.5 million while the Astros have countered with $3 million.
“We’ve had really good talks with Javier’s agent, Danny Lozano, and we feel really good about that one,” new Astros general manager Dana Brown told reporters on Thursday.
Javier went 11-9 with a 2.54 ERA in 30 games with 25 starts last season.
Javier was terrific in the postseason, including six shutout innings in Game 4 of the World Series which led to a no-hitter.
