Destiny Brought Brown and Baker Together With Houston Astros

Houston Astros Dana Brown and manager Dusty Baker could have been a deadly combo years ago, now they finally get the chance in 2023.

The Houston Astros just hired their new general manager Dana Brown. Prior to his appointment with the Astros, Brown was the Vice President of Scouting for the Atlanta Braves. A position that will not be filled following his departure for the simple fact that the job was created just for Brown.

That's how talented and coveted he is. Teams quite literally create positions for him.

That's why it comes as little surprise that Brown was interviewed by the Seattle Mariners back in 2015 for their general manager position. At the time, Brown made it known that he was going to hire Dusty Baker to be the manager of the Mariners according to USA Today's Bob Nightingale.

Obviously, Jerry Dipoto got that job so the the pairing never happened.

Until now.

Brown and Baker now form one of the most formidable duos in baseball. They are heading arguably the most talented roster and the expectations are sky high. Another World Series is not just in the cards, it is expected.

Fate, destiny, or whatever you want to call it. These things have a way of coming together in the end.
