In this story:

Houston Astros High-A infield prospect Luis Santana was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Month for June. Santana was acquired from from the New York Mets in 2019 as part of the trade that involved J.D. Davis.

Santana has largely flown under the radar, but last month he led the South Atlantic League in batting average (.417) and sat second in the league with his OPS (1.046). On the season, the Astros prospect is slashing .286/.341/.419 with five home runs in 203 at-bats.

Despite his up-year and recent performance, Santana is not featured amongst the top-33 prospects in the Astros' system according to FanGraphs.

Perhaps this recent surge in production will allow him to climb the rankings of various outlets prior to the end of the 2022 MiLB season.
