Jose Altuve Set For Day Two of Rehab Assignment
As Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve continues to work his way back to the Majors after a broken thumb, the All-Star veteran enters his second day of a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sugar Land.
Altuve went 0-for-4 over seven innings on Friday, May 12 while also playing second base.
He will be the designated hitter and leadoff for the Space Cowboys’ showdown with the El Paso Chihuahuas on Saturday, May 13.
First pitch for Saturday’s game in Sugar Land is slated for 6:05 p.m. CT.
Forrest Whitley, one of Houston’s top prospects, takes the hill for the Space Cowboys on Saturday in Altuve’s second game in Sugar Land.
This season, Whitely is 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA (21.0 innings pitched) with 22 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 1.19 WHIP.
