Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker is having a tremendous season. He’s made his second All-Star appearance and is pointed toward his first 30/30 season.

That could earn Tucker a long-term extension with the Astros this offseason and he passed on a $200 million extension in the spring.

While Astros general manager Dana Brown has made it clear that Tucker isn’t going anywhere, even with two years of arbitration eligibility left, Tucker continues to do things that should enhance his value at the negotiating table.

That includes his grand slam on Tuesday night against Baltimore.

That shot, which came in the top of the ninth inning, was the go-ahead shot in a 7-6 Astros victory. It also cemented his connection to a baseball legend.

In road games this season, Tucker has a three-home run game, a hitting streak of 20 games or more and a grand slam with his team down by three runs in the ninth inning.

Per Optastats, there is only one other player in MLB history that has done that — George Herman ‘Babe’ Ruth.

Yep, that guy.

That’s fast company for Tucker, who is proving more and more indispensable to the Astros’ future by the game.
