Houston Astros Lacking Representation in Latest All-Star Ballot Update
The next round of MLB All-Star voting ballots updates has come out and it's not looking particularly great for the Houston Astros.
A star-studded team, the Astros have lacked offensive production at the plate all season and those numbers are now being translated to a lack of fan voting for the All-Star game.
Out all the positions that can be voted for, only one player has made the cut so far in Yordan Alvarez.
Alvarez currently sits fourth in outfield voting, down from third in the previous release. His missing time due to injury is the presumable culprit for the drop.
Pitching is the only position not allowed to be voted on by the fans. Presumably Framber Valdez, Ryan Pressly and others could be selected to the All-Star pitching staff.
The Astros offense will have to see a sharp increase in production of they hope to get more than one player voted into the game via the fan vote.
