Houston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. faced batters at Minute Maid Park again Tuesday, throwing 32 pitches. The righty hasn't pitched in a contest since Game 4 of the 2021 American League Division Series.

McCullers sat 90-93 mph Tuesday, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. The 28-year-old mixed in six sliders ranging 82-84 mph, six curveballs around 82-83 mph and a couple of cutters, according to the report.

McCullers told reporters he looks to stay around 93 mph until he heads out on a rehab assignment. His next step in progressions will be up-downs — simulated innings — before heading to an affiliate.

The right-hander considers himself "healthy" and only a few ticks away from his normal pitch velocity which he sees happening in an actual game scenario.
