The Houston Astros last had a left-handed reliever in the bullpen on June 6, the day before the club placed Parker Mushinski on the 15-day injured list with left-elbow discomfort.

The lefty is now set for a rehab assignment starting Wednesday with Triple-A Sugar Land, per Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet.

The 26-year-old was recalled three days prior with lefty Blake Taylor being placed on the shelf with the same diagnosis. Mushinski pitched one no-hit inning upon his callup, walking two batters and striking out one.

Mushinski has appeared in six games this season, totaling 6 1/3 innings. The lefty has yielded three runs on five hits and three walks, striking out eight total batters in the same span.

With the Space Cowboys, the lefty has pitched 15 innings over 13 outings, striking out 17 batters. Mushinski is the only Triple-A Sugar Land hurler to not allow a run in 15 or more innings this season, while only two walks are tagged to Mushinski in 2022.
