In this story:

With so much anticipation surrounding the Houston Astros heading into the opening series of the year, things could not have gotten off to a worse start than what took place during their four-game sweep against their rival New York Yankees.

Fortunately, it's a long season and they were able to get things back on track in a spectacular way on Monday.

Ronel Blanco threw the 17th no-hitter in Astros history. Considering he was a starter for the first time last year and had never thrown a complete game, this truly came out of nowhere.

That was definitely needed for a team coming off a disappointing start to their year and concerns surrounding their pitching staff because of injuries and poor performances.

According to Chandler Rome of The Athletic, Houston also made some changes to their roster ahead of Tuesday's game as J.P. France was placed on the paternity list and they called up Dylan Coleman from Triple-A.

France showed decently well in his first outing of the season, going 5 2/3 innings and giving up three runs on six hits. He also struck out five batters showing he might have been able to bring some more "put away" type of stuff into his second year in the bigs.

Coleman was an offseason acquisition of the Astros and was someone expected to factor into their bullpen from the start after losing so many pieces from last year's unit.

However, he began 2024 down in Triple-A after struggling mightily in Spring Training.

How much of an opportunity he gets with Houston will be seen, but based on how their bullpen has performed so far, it wouldn't be surprising to see him take the field early after his promotion.
