There is a lot of buzz surrounding the Houston Astros and this upcoming season.

After being eliminated by their division and in-state rival Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series, the front office became much more aggressive than anticipated this winter.

They seemingly had a limited budget to work with, resulting in a few additions, but nothing major.

That changed when Kendall Graveman went down with a likely season ending injury. They signed Josh Hader and made him the highest-paid reliever in MLB history.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the blessing of owner Jim Crane.

It was reported he originally didn't want to have his team's payroll go into the luxury tax threshold. But that clearly changed when he allowed his front office to pursue Hader and hand out a long-term extension to Jose Altuve.

There would have been excitement if these moves weren't made by the organization, as they were still one of the favorites to take home their third World Series championship, but now, the anticipation is off the charts.

Count Crane as one of those in that camp as Chandler Rome of The Athletic reported the owner made his way down to their facility in West Palm Beach to see the team's first full squad workout of Spring Training.

Now, it's fair to say that he likely would have done the same exact thing if not for some of these high-profile moves, but that trip was certainly made easier knowing he was able to put together a formidable roster that likely will make another deep playoff run.
