Houston Astros Prospect Makes Sugar Land History on Saturday Night
Houston Astros top prospect Pedro Leon made history on Saturday night when the Triple-A Sugar Land Space Cowboys took on the Salt Lake Bees.
In a 21-6 victory, Astros sixth-ranked prospect Leon, hit for the cycle.
That cycle was the first in Space Cowboys history.
Leon, still awaiting his MLB debut, has had a solid season in Triple-A slashing .255/.346/.472 with 11 home runs.
Those numbers are a stark increase from his production at the same level last season. Leon had a strong winter and it appears to have paid off.
Considering the situation in Houston and Leon's recent performance, he could be due to see some time with the MLB club in the near future.
The Space Cowboys will finish up their series against Salt Lake on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. CT.
Following that, they will return home to tale on the Oklahoma City Dodgers with a series beginning on Wednesday.
