The Houston Astros have been without their starting shortstop Jeremy Peña for five games now as he misses another start on Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies.

Peña has been sidelined with a stiff neck and Mauricio Dubon has taken over in his absence. The injury wasn't serious enough to place Peña on the injured list, however.

According to The Athletic, the Astros will have Peña back on Wednesday. He will be in the starting lineup according to manager Dusty Baker.

Peña has slashed .247/.302/.399 this season, a dip from his production last season. Dubon has been great this season when taking over for Altuve and now Peña as he has slashed .286/.313/.408, numbers all well above his career average.

Still, Peña is seen as the future of the position and getting him back in the lineup will strengthen the lineup and the bench.

Houston has a quick two-game series with the Rockies before they host a four-game set with the Seattle Mariners that begins on Thursday at Minute Maid Park.
