Houston Astros starter Framber Valdez will make his first start since his no-hitter on Tuesday when the Astros start a three-game series at the Baltimore Orioles.

The Astros (64-49) will be facing the American League East-leading Orioles (70-42) at Camden Yards after an off-day on Monday.

Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s games are at 6:05 p.m. central and Thursday’s getaway game is set for 11:35 a.m.

Valdez (9-7, 3.07) threw the 16th no-hitter in Astros history on Wednesday against Cleveland and became the first left-hander in franchise history to throw a no-hitter.

He is expected to face Orioles rookie Grayson Rodriguez (2-3, 6.09), who started the season as one of the Orioles’ top prospects and is from Nacogdoches, Texas.

Cristian Javier (7-2, 4.39) expects to take the ball on Wednesday. His last start was against the New York Yankees on Thursday, a game in which he failed to get out of the fifth inning, giving up four hits, three earned runs and three walks against four strikeouts.

The O’s expect to start Jack Flaherty (8-6, 4.28), a right-hander the Orioles acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline. He had a scintillating debut with Baltimore last week, claiming a victory against Toronto. He threw for six innings, giving up four hits, one earned run and two walks against eight strikeouts.

Rookie Hunter Brown (8-7, 4.07) will take the ball on Thursday for the Astros. He claimed the victory against the Yankees on Friday, throwing six innings and giving up five hits, two earned runs and a walk against four strikeouts.

Brown will likely face Dean Kremer (10-4, 4.61), who has already set a career high for MLB wins in a season. He earned a no-decision in his last start against the New York Mets, as he threw 5.1 innings, giving up two hits, two earned runs and four walks against four strikeouts.

This means that Verlander — who made his Astros debut this season on Saturday — will likely take the ball when the Astros return home to start a three-games series with the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
