Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez is among the top three vote-getters at his position after the first round of All-Star Game voting results were revealed on Monday.

Alvarez, who was recently on the injured list with right oblique discomfort, received 571,986 votes, putting him behind only the New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge (844,965) and the Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout (598,918) at the position.

The top six vote-getters in the outfield move on to the second round of voting, which starts on June 22. That round of voting determines the starters.

Alvarez is batting .277 with 17 home runs and 55 RBI this season.

The only other Astros player in contention to move on to the second round of voting right now is Jose Altuve, whose 363,013 votes puts him second behind the Texas Rangers’ Marcus Semien, who has 707,712 votes.

Altuve, an eight-time All-Star who has been voted a starter five times, has missed much of the season due to injury.

Other Astros among the top vote-getters at their positions include catcher Martín Maldonado (fifth, 154,799), first baseman José Abreu (fifth, 131,517), third baseman Alex Bregman (fourth, 187,388), shortstop Jeremy Peña (fourth, 172,258), designated hitter Corey Julks (fourth, 116,842) outfielder Kyle Tucker (14th, 162,122) and outfielder Jake Meyers (110,566).

The MLB All-Star Ballot, which is available exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com/vote, all 30 Club web sites, the MLB App and the MLB Ballpark App, will be accessible until the voting period for Phase 1 concludes at 11 a.m. central on June 22nd.

During the initial voting period, fans can submit up to five ballots per 24-hour period.

On June 22nd, the top two vote-getters at each position (and the top six outfielders) in each League will be revealed on MLB Network at 5 p.m. central, and they will advance to the second phase of voting to determine who makes the All-Star teams and starts for each League.

The leading vote-getter in each league during the first phase of voting will receive an automatic starting assignment at the All-Star Game and bypass the second phase of voting.
